Refund Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through PowerBI.app (the "Site"), including Power BI templates, style guides, training, custom visuals, downloadable files, subscriptions, and any other digital product or service we provide (each, a "Product"). By placing an order you agree to this Policy. Please read it carefully before you buy.

1. All sales are final

Our Products are digital goods delivered electronically. The moment a Product is made available to you — by download link, account access, licence key, email delivery, or any other means — it has been delivered in full and cannot be returned, recalled, or "un-supplied". For this reason, all sales are final and, except where this Policy expressly states otherwise or where the law requires, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, credits, or cancellations.

2. Why digital products can’t be returned

Unlike a physical item, a digital file cannot be sent back. Once you have received it you retain a perfect, usable copy regardless of whether you later delete it, lose it, or claim not to have used it. A "return" is therefore impossible, and a refund would mean giving the Product away for free. This is the standard basis on which digital goods are sold worldwide.

3. You agree to immediate delivery (and waive any cooling-off period)

Where you are a consumer who would otherwise have a statutory cancellation or "cooling-off" period (for example under UK or EU law), you expressly request and consent to the Product being made available to you immediately upon purchase, and you acknowledge that:

  • by accessing, downloading, or beginning to use the Product, performance has begun with your consent; and
  • you thereby lose any right to cancel or to a cooling-off refund that you might otherwise have had once delivery has started.

4. Situations that are NOT eligible for a refund

To set clear expectations, the following are examples (without limitation) of circumstances that do not qualify for a refund, exchange, or credit:

  • Change of mind or buyer’s remorse after purchase.
  • Accidental, duplicate, or unauthorised purchases made on your account or with your payment method.
  • You no longer need, no longer want, or did not end up using the Product.
  • You found the Product, or a similar one, cheaper or free elsewhere.
  • You did not read the Product description, features, requirements, or this Policy before buying.
  • The Product did not meet a subjective expectation, preference, or taste that was not part of its stated description.
  • You lack the skills, software, licence, hardware, or data needed to use the Product, or your environment does not meet the stated requirements.
  • You experienced a problem you did not give us a reasonable opportunity to fix.
  • Your circumstances changed (for example a project was cancelled, you left a role, or your needs changed).
  • You were able to extract the value, learning, or result you needed and then sought a refund.

5. Compatibility and requirements are your responsibility

Our Products are built for Microsoft Power BI and may depend on specific versions, licences (for example Free, Pro, Premium Per User, or Fabric capacity), data sources, or features. Where we state requirements, it is your responsibility to confirm your environment meets them before purchasing. A Product that works as described, but not in an environment that does not meet the stated requirements, is not faulty and is not grounds for a refund. PowerBI.app is independent and not affiliated with Microsoft, and we are not responsible for changes Microsoft makes to the platform.

6. Subscriptions and recurring services

  • You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals.
  • Cancellation does not refund the current billing period, and we do not provide partial, pro-rata, or unused-time refunds.
  • You retain access until the end of the period already paid for, after which access ends.
  • It is your responsibility to cancel before a renewal date; renewal charges already taken are non-refundable.

7. Custom and commissioned work

For bespoke work (such as custom visuals or tailored builds), any deposit or upfront fee is non-refundable once work has begun, and fees for completed or delivered milestones are non-refundable. Specific terms agreed in writing for a commission take precedence over this section for that commission.

8. Delivery problems

If you did not receive your Product, or a download link or access failed, this is almost always quickly resolved. Contact us at contact@powerbi.app with your order details and we will re-send or restore access. A delivery issue we can remedy by re-delivery is not, by itself, grounds for a refund.

9. Faulty or misdescribed products

If a Product is genuinely faulty, materially not as described, or does not perform as we stated, please tell us within a reasonable time and give us the chance to put it right. Our usual first remedy is to repair or replace the Product or supply a corrected version. Where we cannot reasonably do so, and where the law requires, we will provide an appropriate refund. This section does not apply to issues caused by your environment, misuse, modification, or failure to meet stated requirements.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded under the consumer protection laws that apply to you (for example the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law, or the Australian Consumer Law). Where such rights apply, they stand alongside this Policy. This Policy is intended to operate to the fullest extent permitted by law, and no further.

11. Discretionary goodwill

We may, entirely at our own discretion and without any obligation, choose to offer a refund, partial refund, credit, or replacement in an individual case. Doing so is a one-off goodwill gesture, is not an admission of liability, and does not create a right to, or a precedent for, any future refund.

12. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you believe there is a problem with a charge, please contact us first — we can almost always resolve it faster than your bank can. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first giving us a reasonable opportunity to help is a breach of this Policy. We reserve the right to challenge illegitimate chargebacks with evidence of delivery and acceptance, to suspend or revoke access to Products and accounts associated with a chargeback, and to refuse future service.

13. Pricing errors

If a Product is listed with an obviously incorrect price or description due to a technical or human error, we may cancel the order and refund any amount paid, even after purchase.

14. How to contact us

For any question about this Policy, a delivery issue, or a faulty Product, email contact@powerbi.app with your order number and the email used at checkout. Please contact us before leaving a review or starting a dispute — we genuinely want to help.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. The "Last updated" date above shows when this Policy was last revised. See also our Legal Notice and Privacy Policy.
